Protest over death of domestic help at Uttara

Police on Tuesday found a dead body of a 12-yr-old domestic help, named Boishakhi from a six storey building at Uttara in the capital.  

 

Boishakhi worked as domestic help in the residence of Rifat Ferdous, a private company official.

 

Rifat Ferdous along with his wife abides by at a bhaban of 18 no street in the capital’s Uttara 3 no sector area.

 

Assistant commissioner of Uttara Zone Police Kamruzzaman said, “Rifat himself informed us about the incident. We found the hanging body of Boishakhi after we entered breaking the door of a room.”

 

The relatives of Boishakhi rushed to the spot soon hearing the incident. They accused that Boishakhi has been killed and started demonstration there. Local residents also joined with them.
 

They set fire procuring available materials-- furniture and a cycle -- from the house.

 

They also barred fire service officials from controlling the fire.
