Pepsodent, in partnership with BDS, celebrated ‘World Oral Health Day’ on March 20, reiterating the importance of building a cavity-free Bangladesh.
The event featured a host of activities which included the launch of an advanced toothpaste named “Sensitive Expert by Pepsodent”. This new range promises to reduce sensitivity in just 30 seconds and prevents it from coming back. The mega launch of this range took place in the presence of more than 3000 dentists.Pepsodent also showcased the work it has done with Bangladesh Dental Society in creating healthy smile in schools across Bangladesh through school programmes. A major feature of the event was a brushing session with the kids, teaching them the right brushing technique and encouraging them to brush their teeth twice a day.
The event was addressed by Nafees Anwar, Beauty & Personal Care Director of Unilever Bangladesh. He particularly emphasized on being aware of the uncertified dentists/quacks and reiterated the importance of all certified dentists to make sure everyone can identify the certified dentists in their community and safeguard their oral health.
A global study done by Unilever has shown that 1 out of 3 children experienced moderate to severe oral pain in the past year. These problems eventually lead to children opting out of school activities resulting into absenteeism. It is therefore imperative that we scale up awareness on the importance of brushing (twice a day), with a set of initiatives which drive behavioral changes and thereby reducing the chance of tooth decay.
