Plane hijacking bid: Polash’s parents, relatives quizzed

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has interrogated the parents, relatives and neighbours of Polash Ahmed, the slain ‘hijacker’ of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, in Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district.

 

A team of CTTC unit went to Polash’s Narayanganj residence around 8 pm on Saturday and interrogated his father Piar Zahan, mother Renu Begum, uncle Dwin Islam and 10 relatives and neighbours.

 

Rajesh Barua, inspector of Chattogram Metropolitan Police and also the investigation officer of the case said Polash’s former wife actress Samsun Nahar Shimla will be interrogated by in a day or two.

 

Shimla has been kept under surveillance of DB police and she will be interrogated soon, said police.

 

Foiling an alleged bid to hijack the Biman aircraft, members of joint forces killed Polash Ahmed at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on February 24.
