Burglary at store of Ctg district court

CHATTOGRAM: A burglary took place at the store of Chattogram district court at Chittagong court building.

The incident could be known after the staff of the store came to duty on Monday morning after three days’ holiday.

The burglars put the door of the store under a new lock after the burglary.

Two cops identified as constable Mohammad Khalilur Rahman and Mohammad Moniruzzaman, who were on duty during the burglary, were suspended in this connection, said the district court Inspector Bijon Barua.

However, police didn’t disclose names of the items stolen from the store.

Sources said the evidences including documents, firearms, gold and drugs of cases are kept at the store on the first floor of the court building.

The official activity of the store remained suspended for the three days due to the holidays. As the staff arrived on Monday morning, they found the lock changed and realised the matter of burglary.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC-South) Mehedi Hasan visited the store in the morning.

Members of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Police Bureau of Investigation (PIB) also visited the spot and collected crime scene evidences including finger print.
