6 killed in New Zealand mosque attack


At least six people were killed in an attack on Al Noor mosque in Christchurch of New Zealand today.

Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal, Mushfikur Rahim and other members of the cricket team were present during the attack as they went to say their prayers. The cricket team narrowly escaped the mass shooting.

A shooter opened fire at a mosque in Christchurch near Hagley Park. Multiple people have been injured with reports of six killed.

A witness told Newshub a shooter was dressed in military gear and with a high powered rifle.

All Christchurch schools and hospitals have been placed into urgent lockdown. Armed police were deployed at 1:40pm and are urging those in the city to stay indoors.
