Blaming corrupt officials for tarnishing the achievement of banking sector, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, warned that there will be no place for unskilled and corrupt ones in state-own banks.
He made this forewarning at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium in city’s Agargaon area, where ‘Annual Conference of Janata Bank- 2019’ was organised on Wednesday.
“Dishonest businessmen are misusing the money of our banks. They don’t pay the loan. We are going to find the corrupt bank officials, who are helping them,” he said.
Emphasising the automation process of countries banking sector, he said, “At present, 2.73 lakh people exchange information using email and 42 billion people use internet across the world. We have to spur technological change in the banking sector.’
Dr. Fazle Kabir, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Finance Secretary Abdur Rauf Talukder and Financial Institution Division Secretary Asadul Islam delivered their speeches, among other at the conference presided over by Luna Shamsuddoha, chairman of Janata Bank.
