Namaz-e-janaza of ex-MP Babul held

The namaz-e-janaza of freedom fighter and former Member of Parliament Akhteruzzaman Babul, who died in the city at the age of 62, was held on the south plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban on Sunday.


Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah, Whip Atiur Rahman Atiq, Opposition Deputy Leader of the House GM Quader, Opposition Chief Whip M Mashiur Rahman Ranga, MPs, political leaders, JS officials and people from all strata joined the janaza.


A guard of honor was given to the freedom fighter for his contribution to the country’s Liberation War.


Later, on behalf of Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, Whip Atiur Rahman Atiq paid tributes by placing a wreath on his coffin.


On behalf of leader of the opposition, JS opposition deputy leader, opposition chief whip also placed wreaths on the coffin.


Babul was elected MP from Faridpur-3 constituency in 1988.
