State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Monday said local engineers have built their capacity for sustainable development in the country.
“I hope our engineers have designed and implemented infrastructure projects considering the environment for continuities of the sustainable development,” he said at a seminar as chief guest.The seminar styled “Engineers for Leadership in Sustainable Development in Bangladesh” was held on the occasion of the 59th Convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) at the seminar hall of the organisation in the city.
IEB president Abdus Sabur presided over the programme.
The state minister said local engineers have now built up their capacity for preparing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts.
The government has placed development road map before the nation, he said adding “Engineers are the makers to implement the roadmap”.
So, their efficiency will help the country for building golden Bangladesh, he pointed out.
