Momen seeks plans for next three years from envoys

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has directed Bangladeshi ambassadors in abroad to prepare an outline incorporating expected trade and investment from abroad for the next three years.

Suggesting the ambassadors to put focus on economic diplomacy, foreign minister issued the directives on Friday.

Alongside developing friendly relations with their respective countries, foreign minister also asked them to create a synergy with the Bangladesh expatriates living abroad so that they can feel encourage to contribute more in country’s economy.

Seeking their co-operation for country branding, Foreign Minister Embassies in abroad to take active initiatives for reaching incumbent government’s goals of bringing foreign investment and adopting new technology and expanding trade and business.

Through attracting foreign investment, it will be possible to create huge employment and exploring tourism potential in the country, he added.

He also sought ambassadors’ active role in exploring new export destinations for Bangladeshi products.
