Journalists can help attain MDGs: Mannan

Planning Minister MA Mannan has said that journalists can help attain Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by working with the government to build Bangladesh a developed nation.

He told this while exchanging opinions with a delegation of Bangladesh Journalists’ Foundation for Consumers and Investors (BJFCI) at his Sher-e-Bangla Nagar office in the capital recently.

The minister said that journalists, with their pens, can help build a fair financial society by promoting consumer rights and inclusive investments.

Led by BJFCI chairman Faruk Ahmed, the delegates included its acting secretary general Deepak Acharjee of the Daily Independent, vice-chairmen Sayed Ali Asfar of The Financial Express and PR Biswas of The Asian Age, joint secretary general Anjon Chowdhury and executive members Z A M Khairuzzaman of the Daily Sun, Rafiq Azad of The Independent, Nizamul Haque Bipul of Bangladesh Pratidin, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury of the daily Jugantor, Chomon Afroz Rosy of The Bangladesh Express and Deepti Islam of the Jonokontho.
