The four-day 2nd Bangladesh Film Festival is underway in Kolkata. The inauguration ceremony of the festival was held at the Gallery 2 of Nandan Cinema Hall in Kolkata on Friday.
Information Minister of Bangladesh Dr Hasan Mahmud was the chief guest of the event while West Bengal Tourism Minister Goutam Deb graced the occasssion as honourable guest.On the other hand, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Riva Ganguly Das and National award-winning film-maker Goutam Ghosh were also present at the programme as special guests.
A total of 23 Bangladesh films will be screened during the four-day festival to promote contemporary Bangladeshi films among Indian film-lovers. The festival will continue till February 18.
The films will be screened at Nandan and Nazrul Tirtha cinema halls. Nazrul Tirtha is in the northeastern fringes of Kolkata.
“Amader Bongobondhu,” a docudrama on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, screened as the inaugural film of the festival.
Films like “Guerilla”, Post Master 71, “Chitra Nodir Pare”, Swapnojaal, Dohon, Rajniti, Head Master, Jibon Tuli, Nekabborer Mohaprayan, Ghetu Putra Kamola, Nuru Mia O Tar Beauty Driver, Gohin Baluchar, Alfa, Zannat, Jonmobhumi, Rajputro, Pathshala, Sonaton Golpo, Mohua Sundory will be screened in the festival.
