Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCU) has demanded an apparent reflection on the zero tolerance policy against communalism the ruling party pledged during the 11th parliamentary elections.

The leaders of the BHBCU made the demand at a press briefing at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in Segunbagicha in the capital on Friday.

Advocate Rana Das Gupta, general secretary of the organisation, read out a written statement in the occasion.  The speakers said, they hoped, the government will play an evident role against those who are vigilant to harm religious harmony, religious freedom and national unity not only during their festivals and polls but also all through the year.

Dr Nimchandra Bhoumik, journalist Bashudeb Dhar, Lion JL Bhoumik, Milon Kanti Datta and others were present during the press briefing.
