Bashundhara Kings maintained their all-win record in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) obliterating Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society by 1-0 goal at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari on Thursday.
With this win, Bashundhara Kings registered their fifth win in a row to maintain the longest winning streak of BPL 2018-2019. Kings Kyrgyz forward Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov sneaked in a penalty goal to give Bashundhara the thumping win. Kings now have 15 points to their name playing 5 matches as Abahani are trailing with equal number of points but they have played 6 matches for their 15 points.With their home Nilphamari, struck with football fever, Oscar Bruzon’s disciples were determined to make sure that they put forth a performance upto home crowd’s expectation.
Bashundhara Kings attack started off aggressively with their spearhead Daniel Colindres in a marauding mood as he broke through Rahmatganj lines numerous times in the first ten minutes but could not break the deadlock.
Rahmatganj defender Siyo Zunapio was successful to keep Daniel in check.
Bashundhara Kings continued to launch scathing attacks for the rest of the first-half. Kings local gem Motin Miah bulleted a long pass to Mahbubur Rahman, but unfortunately he could not push the ball into post.
Just as the whistles for half-time was about to go off, Rahmatganj started to falter as Bashundhara Kings ramped up the pressure as their forward Baktiyar broke the deadlock on the 45th minute of the match with a penalty goal.
Rahmatganj leftwinger Monday Osagie slide tackled Bashundhara’s Brazilian Magician Marcos Vinicius inside Rahmatganj’s D-box. Baktiyar duped the goalie into a dive to left-corner as he sent the ball past a confounded Anisul Islam who was Rahmatganj’s goalie.Kings resumed the match with their characteristic aggressive play.
King local gem Masuk Miah Jony missed a golden opportunity to score on the 59th minute of the match as he missed to toe a swinging ball from Daniel.
Moments after being fielded in, Tawhidul Alam Sabuj pushed a textbook cross from fellow Kings midfielder Ibrahim.
Rahmatganj forward Rakibul missed an opportunity to level the scoreline for Rahmatganj on the 67th minute.
In the other match of the day, NoFeL Sporting Club and Team BJMC played out an uneventful goalless draw in their BPL encounter at Shahid Bulu Stadium in Noakhali.
