BAT Bangladesh announces opportunity of 9 months maternity leave

British American Tobacco Bangladesh has announced the opportunity for enjoying maternity leave of 9 months for the female employees of the organisation.


Shehzad Munim, the Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh had made this announcement at the renovation ceremony of the child day care center, “Angel’s Nest” in Mohakhali DOHS, Dhaka.


“Angel’s Nest” is a child day care center for the children of BAT Bangladesh’s employees, as was mentioned in the event.


BAT Bangladesh has always come up with exemplary initiatives in the arena of Human Resource Management, and Angel’s Nest is one such example. It has been designed in an exceptional way to provide daytime services and the latest amenities to the children of working parents, keeping their basic needs and security in mind. Working parents can now perform their professional duties without having to worry about their children during their working hours.


During the event, the authority of BAT Bangladesh announced the opportunity for being able to avail maternity leave for nine months. Employees who are geographically dispersed and work in continuous shifts will be able to benefit from this policy. Additionally, this policy will also be applicable for adoptive parents. Such remarkable policies of BAT Bangladesh will remain as an example for all other companies in the industry.


Present at the event as chief guest was Ms. Shwapna Bhowmick, Country Manager, Marks & Spencer plc, Bangladesh Office along with Shehzad Munim, Managing Director, BAT Bangladesh, Rumana Rahman, Regional Head of HR, BAT Asia Pacific & Middle East, BAT Bangladesh Executive Committee and high officials of the organisation.
