In Rangpur: The Sanaton community celebrated the Saraswati Puja on Sunday through daylong programmes amid huge enthusiasm and due religious fervour in all eight districts of the division.A number of Puja mandaps, mandirs and educational institutions were colourfully decorated and hundreds of devotees thronged there on Sunday to seek blessings of the ‘Devi Saraswati’, the goddess of knowledge.
The devotees, especially students of different schools, colleges and universities, attired in colourful dresses, offered special prayers and observed fasting as per religious ritual to seek knowledge from the goddess Saraswati.
In Rangpur city, images of goddess Saraswati, symbolising a graceful woman, was erected at different Puja mandaps, mandirs, educational institutions and makeshift places for worships.
The Saraswati Puja was celebrated at Dharmoshava Ashram, Laksmi Narayan Zeu Shiva Mandir, Rothbari Sarak Sree Sree Poresh Mandir, Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur Medical College, Begum Rokeya Government College, Technical School, Carmichael College, Lions School and College, Samaj Kallyan Biddya Bithi, Koilash Ranjan High School, Afan Ullah High School, Mahiganj College, Government Teachers’ Training College, Zila School, Dental College and other educational institutions.
The biggest celebrations were held at Rangpur Carmichael College where thousands of students belonging to the Sanaton community thronged since the morning.
The Saraswati Puja was also celebrated at Guptapara, Mahiganj, Mulatol, Paulpara, Lalbag, Modern Mour, Tazhat, Boiragipara, Machuapara, Kallyanpara, Shalban, Burima Mandir, Polytechnic Institute and other places in the city.In Rajshahi: The Hindu community on Sunday celebrated the Saraswati Puja with the spirit of pursuing education and knowledge, traditional gaiety and due religious fervour everywhere in Rajshahi division.
Puja mandaps, mandirs and a large number of educational institutions have been colourfully decorated as hundreds of devotees seek blessings since morning from the ‘Devi Saraswati’, the Goddess of knowledge.
The devotees, especially the students attired in colourful dresses, offered special prayers and observed fasting as per the ritual of the festival to seek knowledge from the Goddess Saraswati.
In Rajshahi metropolis, a large number of images of Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing a graceful woman riding on a swan, were erected at different puja mandaps, mandirs and educational institutions.
Saraswati Puja was celebrated at Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Rajshahi College, Rajshahi Medical College, Teachers Training College, Polytechnic Institute side by side with different educational institutions and many other places in the city.
