6 CU students suspended for violating rules

CHATTOGRAM: The Chittagong University (CU) authorities suspended six students for breaching discipline on Thursday.

The students were identified as Abdul Mukib of Public Administration department, Mohiuddin Jalal of International Relations, Saif Siam of Statistics, Joysan Barua of Economics, Md Gami of English, and Shamim Awsan of Political Sciences departments.

CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury told the daily sun that they were suspended for taking cannabis at a residential hall on the university campus on Wednesday night.  

The decision to suspend the students was made following the report of the Board of Residence, Health and Discipline of the university on Thursday afternoon, he added.
