Former adviser to caretaker government ASM Shahjahan has passed away.
He breathed his last at Dhaka’s Apollo Hospital at around 1:00am on Wednesday.
Shahjahan, the former inspector general of police (IGP) was suffering from chest pain and admitted to the hospital last month. He was undergoing treatment under the supervision of Dr Chandraprakash.
ASM Shahjahan was the first Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in 1976. He also served as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bangladesh from 1992 to 1996.
Shahjahan was the Education, Science and Information Technology Adviser of the caretaker government formed on July 15, 2001.
