A tantrik allegedly sent an application to the Patna authorities of India on Tuesday in which he sought permission for human sacrifice to please his deity. In a video that surfaced online, the tantrik claimed that human sacrifice is not a crime and he would sacrifice his son first.
The occultist, who was identified as Surendra Prasad Singh, is a resident of Mohanpur Pahadpur village under the jurisdiction of Mofussil police station. The letter was addressed to Sub Divisional Officer (SDO- Sadar), Begusarai, according to a report in Hindustan Times.
Images of the letter have gone viral on social media, however, authorities refused to have received any such letter. Considering the issue as a serious one, He said that human sacrifice is illegal and a probe has been ordered to find the letter and the tantrik. He assured that required action would be taken.
Reportedly, the letter was written on the letterhead of an organisation called "Bindu Maa Manav Kalyan Sanstha" that the occultist claims to lead. Singh added that the organisation was registered under the Societies Registration Act. Known as Pagla Baba, Singh said that he had been ordered by Goddess Kamakhya to perform human sacrifice. Calling his son Ravana as he denied financing Singh's temple, the tantrik, in the viral video, said that he would sacrifice his engineer son first.
Locals said that the Pagla Baba can often be seen walking around naked or carrying a human skull in his hand. While they suspect that this might be another stunt of the tantrik to gain publicity, they also fear that their children could be an easy catch for him.
