Emon elected DSEC president, Anike secretary

Zakir Hossain Emon, sub-editor of the Daily Samakal was elected as the President of Dhaka Sub-Editors Council (DSEC) while Muktadir Anike was elected as General Secretary on Thursday’s election.


A total of 759 voters out of 1123 exercised their franchise to elect the executive body for year 2019. The election was held at the auditorium of national press club in the capital.


In the post of President, Emon obtained 268 votes while his nearest contestant Mamun Farazi bagged 259 votes.


Mutadir Anike of DBC television was made general secretary getting 271 votes. His nearest contestant Nasreen Geeti got 256 votes.


The other elected portfolio holders are—Md. Bashir Hassain Miah, Vice president, Zauhar Iqbal Khan, Joint Secretary, Abu Kawsar Khokan, Treasurer, Md. Anwar Sadat Sabuj, Organising Secretary, Zakia Sultana, Publication & Publicity secretary, Zaman Saiyedi, Office Secretary, Aminul Rana, Sport and Cultural Secretary, Shamim Ahsan, Training and Research Secretary.


Moreover eleven persons were also elected as the Executive members of the committee. They Are—MA Hannan Miah, Shahid Rana, Nasima Akter Shoma, Mahmuda Aktar, Mohammad Abdul Wadud, Nazrul Islam Bashir, Labin Rahman, Md, Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Karnina Khandoker, Dipak Bhawmick and Muhammad Samaullah.
