Photo exhibition on climate change held at RU

RAJSHAHI: A three days long photo exhibition on global warming, climate change and its effect under the theme of ‘Carbon Kanna’ held at Rajshahi University (RU) on Sunday that ended Tuesday.

Chairman of Mass Communication and Journalism department Associate Professor Abdullah Al Mamun inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest around 12pm on Sunday at premises of University Central Library.

The exhibition remains opened for all visitors from 10am to till 5pm on the campus.

Forty-one photographs of climate change under different location captured by Deen Mohammad Shibly, a fifth batch student batch of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department, were being displayed at the venue.

Deen Mohammad Shibly said, “In the photos that I captured travelling to different coast areas of Bangladesh in last 16 years, is unique on climate change. By this photography, I wanted to create awareness about the climate change in coastal area of Bangladesh and it effect in our every livelihood.”

“My few friends are involved with capturing of the photography. Environmentalist prediction that lower areas will be submerged after fifty years which has been seen in this exhibition,” he added.
