Nepalese ambassador Professor Dr. Chop Lal Bhusal paid a farewell visit to President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the city.

During a meeting on Wednesday, President Hamid thanked the envoy for successful completion of his tenure in Bangladesh. The President recalled the support extended by Nepal to Bangladesh during the Liberation War in 1971.

The President also hoped that the existing relationship between the two countries will be strengthened in the coming days.

Expressing his gratitude to Bangladesh for the support during his tenure in Bangladesh, the envoy said, “Many of our students are interested in studying in Bangladesh. Especially, the students are interested in medical education.”

Chop Lal also requested the President to take necessary steps for easing the visa processing for Nepalese students and businessmen.

During another meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday, the Nepalese Ambassador requested Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for full-time academic visa for about 4000 Nepalese students now studying in Bangladesh instead of temporary residence.

Dr Chop Lal Bhusal was accompanied by his wife during the meeting.
