Two bullet-hit bodies found in beach city

COX’S BAZAR: Two more bullet-hit bodies of Rohingya Yaba peddlers were recovered from Teknaf upazila in the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Khairul Amin, 35, and Md Abdullah, 38, of Block-D of Hoaikong Unchhiprang Rohingya Refugee Camp in Teknaf upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradip Kumar Das of Teknaf Police Station said that locals noticed the bullet-hit bodies in Marine Drive area of Rajarchhara under the upazila in the morning.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

A total of 10,000 Yaba tablets were also recovered from the spot, he said.

The duo was drug peddler and might have been killed over conflict centring the drug business with the rival groups, said the OC Pradip. The bodies were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.

Mentionable, two bodies were also recovered from the Teknaf and Chakaria upazilas in the district on Friday.
