Daily sun journalist hospitalised

Md Mirza Shameem Akhter, senior sub-editor of daily sun, remains hospitalised after falling critically ill.

Shameem was admitted to Better Life Hospital at Rampura in the capital on Tuesday. He has been suffering from serious lung infection, pneumonia and kidney ailment.

Mirza Shameem is in Intensive Care Unit of the hospital due to his critical health condition.

Talking to daily sun, Dr Sheikh Monir Hossain, head of ICU of the hospital, said, “Mirza Shameem has been suffering from multiple organ dysfunction syndromes including serious lung infection and pneumonia.”

“The patient has kidney problem. His blood pressure is low. His condition has slightly improved after receiving treatment.”

The physician, however, said Shameem may require life support if his health condition deteriorates.

The family members of Shameem have sought blessings from the countrymen for his early recovery.
