Latif Siddiqui starts sit-in protesting attack on poll campaign

Independent candidate of Tangail-4, Abdul Latif Siddiqui has started a sit-in accusing Awami League supporters over the attack on his motorcade during his poll campaign in Tangail.

 

The former Awami League minister put up a tent on the porch of the returning officer and was sleeping in it on Sunday.

 

The veteran politician is protesting in a different way to draw attention of the local election officer over the attack on his motorcade.

 

His motorcade reportedly came under attack in Kalihati upazila on Sunday (today).

 

Bringing allegation, Latif Siddiqui said that a group of 20 to 25 supporters of AL candidate attacked them and hurled brick chips when he along with his activists was conducting election campaign in Gohaliabari area around 12noon.

 

As an independent candidate, he has been campaigning for Tangail-4 ahead of the general election to be held on December 30.
