Khaleda files writ petitions against nomination rejection by Election Commission

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has filed three separate writ petitions with the High Court seeking acceptance of her nomination papers.

Barrister Nowshad Jamir, on behalf of Khaleda Zia, filed the petitions seeking High Court directive on the EC to accept her nomination papers so that she (Khaleda) can contest the polls from Bogura-6, Bogura 7 and Feni-1.

The High Court will hold hearing on the petitions on Monday (tomorrow), Barrister Kayser Kamal, a lawyer for Khaleda, told newsmen after the petitions were filed.

The Election Commission on Saturday turned down all three nominations of Khaleda for the forthcoming national election.
