The authorities of Dhaka University have decided to hold the controversial “Gha” unit entrance exam, again.
The decision came from a meeting of Deans' Committee on Tuesday.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman disclosed the matter.
Amid widespread allegations of question leak, the admission test results for the unit of the 2018-19 academic session was published on October 16 with 26.21% pass rate.
On October 21, a writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking a stay on the admission procedure of the unit.
Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ challenging the legitimacy of the process after it was alleged that the exam of the said unit was taken on a leaked question paper.
Fourteen images of handwritten question papers of Dhaka University's 'Gha' unit entry tests were circulated on social media platforms on Friday morning, about one hour prior to the beginning of the exam.
A total of 72 MCQ questions (19 in Bengali, 17 in English and 36 in the general knowledge section) of the handwritten question paper later matched with the original question paper.
According to DU sources, a total of 18,463 students passed the examination among the 70,440 admission seekers.
