Saida Muna Tasneem, currently serving as the ambassador to Thailand, has been appointed as the new high commissioner to the United Kingdom, according to a press release of the foreign ministry issued on Monday.
She served in the Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the UN in New York and the Bangladesh High Commission in London in different capacities.
In Dhaka, she also served as director general for the United Nations and External Publicity wings.
Tasneem began her carrier through the BCS (foreign affairs) cadre.
Tasneem completed her BSc (engineering) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1988. She also did her MSc in Public Policy and Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
She is married and blessed with three sons, the release added.
