President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday expressed condolence at the death of renowned singer Ayub Bachchu.
In a message, the President prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Apart from President and Prime Minister, Special Envoy to the Prime Minister and Chairman of Jatiya Party HM Ershad, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed, and State Minister for Information Advocate Tarana Halim expressed deep shock at the demise of popular star.
Besides, Leader of the Opposition and Jatiya Party co-chairman Raushan Ershad, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Chattagram Samity, Chattagram Journalists Forum, Dhaka (CJFD), cultural activists, singers and people from all strata of society lamented his demise.
Ayub Bachchu, a legendary guitarist, songwriter, composer and singer of Bangladesh, breathed his last at his Moghbazar residence in the capital Dhaka on Thursday morning. He was 56.
