PM greets Bangladesh soccer team for beating Qatar in Asian Games

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday extended her heartiest congratulations to Bangladesh Under-23 Soccer Team for beating Qatar in the Asian Games in Indonesia.
Bangladesh confirmed their second round berth in the Asian Games with a 1-0 win over Qatar at the Patriot Stadium in Jakarta today.
In a congratulatory message, the premier greeted all the players, coach and officials of the Bangladesh football team as well as Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) officials concerned for the historic win over Qatar, the host of World Cup 2022.
She expressed the hope that the winning spree of the Bangladesh team would continue in future.
Bangladesh, who managed to hold Thailand 1-1 in their second match to finish their group as runners up, will now face Iran or Saudi Arabia in round of 16-match on August 24.
