Mohammad Nazrul Islam has been appointed secretary (Grade-1) to the Prime Minister Office (PMO).

Before his upgradation, Nazrul Islam, a member of BCS Information Cadre was the additional press secretary to the PMO since October 2017, according to a media release issued by the PM's Press Wing on Thursday.

The Public Administration Ministry has issued a gazette notification in this regard.

Nazrul Islam, who was made joint secretary in 2015, had been discharging responsibilities as deputy press secretary to the PMO since 2009
