Awami League on Monday filed two cases over the attacks and vandalism at the party President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office in the capital on Saturday.

Awami League deputy office secretary Biplab Barua filed the cases on August 4 and 5 with Dhanmondi Police Station without naming anyone, operation-in-charge of the police station M Abdul Latif confirmed.

Police also received video clips and pictures of the attacks, the OC said.

“A vested quarter carried out the attack on AL office by spreading rumor,” Biplab added.

Earlier on Saturday, agitating students allegedly carried out attack on AL president’s office following a rumour, leaving at least 100 AL leaders and activists injured.
