‘The National Academy for Planning and Development Bill, 2017’ was placed in Parliament on Wednesday.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal placed the Bill in the House and it was sent to the respective Parliamentary Committee for further examination. The Committee was asked to submit its report within 15 days.
The headquarters of the Academy will be established in Dhaka and its branches will be set up anywhere of the country, if necessary, with prior government permission.
There will be a 15-member Board of Directors, including chairman and vice chairman.
The relevant minister and state minister will be made chairman and vice-chairman of the institution, while its director general will act its member secretary.
