3 ‘drug traders’ killed in Jashore ‘gunfight’

 

Three suspected drug traders were killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Paira-Noapara road in Abhaynagar Upazila early Saturday.

 

The gunfight took place with a gang of drug traders at a checkpost, set up by Rab members, on the road, said a text message sent from Rab.

 

After the gunfight, the elite force recovered the bodies from the spot.

 

Goni Miah, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station, said the Rab members handed over the unidentified bodies to their police station.

 

He said two members of Rab were also injured in the gunfight.

 

They also recovered huge Phensidyl and arms from the spot.

 

Further details about the gunfight and the deceased could not be known immediately.
