Madrasa girl ‘raped’ in Narsingdi

A female madrasa student was reportedly ‘raped’ by a young man at Krishnapur village in Manohardi Upazila in Narsingdi on Thursday afternoon.

The alleged rapist was identified as Kamrul Islam, 25, son of Suruj Mia of the same village, UNB reports.

Family sources said Kamrul intercepted the girl on her way to her next-door uncle and brought her to a desolated house. Kamrul tied up her hands and legs and mercilessly violated her there.

Later, the alleged rapist fled the scene keeping the girl inside the house.

The victim managed to untie her hands and legs after a frantic effort and screamed out through the window for help.

Later, locals rescued the victim and sent her to Manohardi Upazila Health Complex.

Confirming the incident, officer-in-charge of Manohardi Police Station Fakharuddin Bhuyia said the victim’s family was asked to lodge a complaint with the police station.
