Thai Food Festival begins in city today

An eight-day long Thai Food Festival will begin at the Westin Dhaka today (Thursday). The festival will offer a wide range of authentic cuisine from different parts of Thailand.
The food festival will continue till September 28.
The food festival will take place for a week at Seasonal Tastes, the buffet restaurant of The Westin Dhaka, where all the Thai food lovers can come and taste palatable Thai delicacies.
Guest Chef Nakorn Bududon from Sheraton Hua Hin Resort and Pranburi Villas Thailand will delight the guests with his culinary art.
Director of Sales and Marketing of the Westin Dhaka Md Al-Amin made the announcement at a press conference at Silver Room of the Westin Dhaka on Wednesday.
Panpimon Suwannapongse, Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh, The Westin Dhaka Executive Chef Stephen Mcgarrie and Resident Manager Shakawath Hossain also attended the press conference.
Organisers pointed out that chefs will put Thai flavorful munchies like ‘Som Tum’, ‘Yum Nua’, ‘Tom Yum Gung’ and many other palatable culinary arts will treat the guests at the Thai buffet spread.
Starting from starters to soups to main courses to desserts, the food festival will highlight many luscious Thai dishes to all the guests attending it.
Director of Sales and Marketing the Westin Dhaka Al Amin said, “We are known with Thai food from our childhood.”
“The Westin Dhaka organised this food festival is a dinner only event and the buffet dinner,” he added.
All the ingredients of the food festival will be brought from Thailand to get authentic flavor of Thai foods, he added.
Resident Manager Shakawath Hossain said that during the festival Westin Dhaka offering especial discount ‘Buy one get one’ for Banglalink icon subscribers and Standard Chartered Bank Ltd customers.
The irresistible dinner is priced at Tk 5000 per person, he added.
Organisers said a special offer ‘Buy one get one’ will be available for the customers of GP STAR, Robi Ace, BRAC Bank, Southeast Bank, NCC Bank, Prime Bank Ltd. and Eastern Bank Ltd customers.
