All the government offices, including Bangladesh Secretariat, were seen quite busy on Tuesday, the second working day after Eid-ul-Azha vacation.

The government offices reopened on Monday after the Eid vacation and saw a thin presence of officials on the first working day, but attendance of officials increased on the second working day.

Sources concerned said despite increase in attendance of officials and staff, full-extent activities at government offices will start from next week.

They, however, said many officials and staff are enjoying leave and will join offices within Sunday.

It is noticed that activities at various offices are still limited to giving attendance, exchanging greetings and performing routine works.

An official of textiles and jute ministry told the daily sun that most of the employees started doing their office from Tuesday.

“But, we are still performing regular works. Full-extent activities will start from next week,” the official said.

Senior information officer of education ministry Afrazur Rahman said that education ministry was almost empty on Monday, the first working day after Eid holiday.

The attendance of officials and employees was moderate on the second working day after vacation, he added.

An official of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry said attendance of employees was satisfactory at his ministry on Tuesday.

“Almost all officials joined workplace on Tuesday. Our office is getting busy after Eid,” the officer said.

It can be mentioned that the capital city became almost empty after Thursday, the last working day before Eid-ul-Azha, as many of the government and non-government officials and employees left the city on the day to celebrate Eid in their ancestral homes.

Dhaka city started getting busy from Monday as most of the government and non-government offices reopened on the day after Eid holiday.
