The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trend in early hours of trading on Monday, the second session of the week, UNB reports.
DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, gained 37.00 points, while the Selective Category Index of CSE advanced 72.96 points within first one and half an hour of the day's trading.
DSEX went up by 37.00 points or 0.65 percent to stand at 5691.63 at 11:58am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 6.39 points or 0.49 per cent to stand at 1303.89 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also rose over 15.75 points or 0.75 per cent to stand at 2094.51 points.
Trade deals stood at 56,332 with transaction at over Tk 3815.90 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 177 advanced, 80 declined and 53 issues remained unchanged.
LankaBangla Finance Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 202.71 million changing hands till then followed by BEXIMCO, REGENTTEX, NURANI and DEFODILCOM.
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX-advancing 72.96 points to stand at 10654.13 points, also at 12:06pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 115 gained, 46 declined and 31 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 180.49 million.
