Mahabharat stalled, director plans love story

KOLKATA: It seems director Kamaleswar Mukherjee's mega project Mahabharat will have to wait a while before it goes on the floors. For the filmmaker has started working on yet another script. And if all goes well, he will start shooting the film very soon.
When quizzed, the director confirmed the news, saying, "Yes, I have started working on a love story, which will happen before Mahabharat. However, it is too early to disclose more, as I am still in the process of writing the script. All I can reveal at the moment is that it's a love story with a twist -focusing on a post-marriage affair. Also, I am yet to finetune the final script of Mahabharat. It is a huge project that needs time. So, I thought of directing this relationship tale first."
Elaborating on the new project, Shrikant Mohta of Shree Venkatesh Films said, "Mahabharat has a huge canvas. Kamalda needs to do a lot of research and therefore, we must give him the time he requires. As for Kamalda's new project, we are aware that it's a relationship story. However, we are yet to lock the final script."
The director, who got rave reviews for films like Meghe Dahka Tara and Chander Pahar, will be dealing with an urban tale once again after his debut film, Uro Chithi, which dealt with a man's constant battle against recession.
