Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim sustained shoulder injuries during practice sessions today (Thursday).
Officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said Mushfiqur has been advised for full bed rest for the time being. He will be scanned on Saturday to determine the extent of his injuries.
Until then, it is uncertain as the batsman cum wicketkeeper will make it to the Tigers’ squad for the World Cup, Dr Debashish Chowdhury, senior physician at the BCB said.
The cricket World Cup is expected to begin in Australia and New Zealand from February 14. The BCB is expected to announce the Tigers’ squad for the World Cup in a few days.
