‘Govt. plans to create 10 lakh vacancies in ICT sector’

The government has a plan to create 10 lakh job opportunities in the Information Technology (IT) sector with in next four years by increasing one crore internet users per year.
The State Minister for ICT affairs Zunaid Ahmed Palak said on Friday morning while addressing a seminar at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban in Dhaka University (DU).
The seminar titled ‘Asian Governance: Paradoxes of Development’ was arranged by Policy Research Centre Bangladesh (PRC-BD).
The State Minister was also conferred with Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury award for his outstanding contribution in ICT sector.
The government also planned to add at least one parcent in GDP through exporting ICT goods by this time said Palak adding all upazilas will bring under internet coverage by 2015 while the unions by 2016.
The State Minister for youth and sports Biren Sikdar MP was the chief guest of the program and that was presided over by Dr. Akbaruddin Ahmed, chairman of Research Centre Bangladesh.
