Missing madrasa student traced in capital's Gandaria

A madrasa student, who went missing from his madrasa in Agailjhara upazila of Barisal district on November 30, was traced in Gandaria area of the capital on Thursday night.

The madrasa student was identified as Neyamatullah, 16, son of Khorshed Bepari of Bakal village and a student of Markaj Al Jamiatul Nafizia Al Islamia Qawmi Madrasa of the upazila.

Quoting Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Gandaria police station, UNB said they found Niamatullah at a roadside restaurant at Dayaganj of Gandaria after receiving information from restaurant owner Amirul Islam.

Amirul Islam informed police after seeing Neyamatullah’s name and photo in the media.

Niamatulla fled the madrasa started to work in the restaurant, said the OC.

S M Aktaruzzaman, police superintendent of Barisal, said a team was sent to Dhaka on Friday to bring back Neyamatullah.
