An Awami League (AL) activist was killed and five others were injured in a clash between two factions of the ruling party over establishing supremacy at Kolakandi village in Titas upazila Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Riazul Karim Sentu, 40, son of Abdul Zabbar of the village, UNB reports.
Police said two groups,-one led by Jubo league leader Ibrahim and another by union Awami League leader Bahar- locked into a clash around 1:15 pm over establishing supremacy in the area.
They attacked each other with sharp weapons, leaving Riazul dead on the spot and five others injured.
On information, police rushed to spot and recovered the body.
Tarek Mohammad Abdul Hannan, officer-in-charge of Titas Police station, confirmed the incident.
