Another 737-800 aircraft to join US Bangla fleet tomorrow

Another Boeing 737-800 aircraft is going to join the fleet of US-Bangla Airlines tomorrow morning aiming to connect more international destinations in the upcoming days.

The private carrier is incorporating the new aircraft after two weeks of introducing its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft to expand wings.

Talking to BSS, Deputy General Manager (Marketing Support & PR) of US-Bangla Airlines M Kamrul Islam said the new aircraft is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 9:30am tomorrow.

"With the aircraft, we've planned to spread our wings to 7-8 international destinations gradually," he said mentioning their latest move for Muscat of Oman.

"We are set to fly to Muscat on November 11," added Kamrul.

Replying to a query, he said they have planned to start operation to Kolkata, Bhutan, Guangzhou of China, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Doha gradually.

"Regulatory approvals have already been collected to launch those operations. Now, works are going on for other necessary activities such as ground handling to this end," added Kamrul.

"If everything is going on as per schedule, we would fly for Kolkata in December," he hoped.

About Bhutan, the US Bangla Deputy General Manager said they need the help of Bhutanese airlines to start the operation at Paro Airport.

"We need pilot from Bhutanese airlines for first 10/12 flights, but they have not available pilot at this moment . . . whenever we get pilot, we would start the operation," he added.

Now, US Bangla has been operating flight in Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka route.

Answering to another query, Kamrul said with the new aircraft, the total number in their fleet will rise to five, of which two is Boeing 737-800 while another three is Dash Q8-400.

Boeing 737-800 aircraft has 158 revenue seats each including 8 business class ones while the remaining is premium economy and economy class and DashQ8-400 aircraft has 76 seats each. Boeing 737-800 aircraft will posses 4 lavatories to facilitate the passengers' comfort.

The private carrier started inaugural flight with the motto "fly fast-fly safe" on July 17, 2014 by operating in Dhaka-Jessore route.

The airlines has so far successfully operated over 16,000 flights on the domestic and Dhaka-Kathmandu route.

Managing Director of US-Bangla Airlines, Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun earlier said, "Our next goal is to stand as the best airline in Asia as we have already received the best airline title for the domestic operation. And this will surely increase the reputation of the aviation industry of Bangladesh."
