An anti-drug meeting was held on Tuesday at Jabra Shahid Smaranika Girls High School under the auspices of Department of Narcotics Control of the district with a view to reducing drug addiction in society.
Deputy commander of Manikganj District Freedom Fighters Command Council and chairman of Jabra Shahid Smaranika Girls High School Management Committee Md Momin uddin Khan presided over the function, reports BSS.
Chairman of Ghior Upazila Parishad, Khandakar Liaquat Hossain, was present at the function as the chief guest while Assistant Director, Department of Narcotics Control Azizul Huque was the special guest.
Chairman of Baniajuri Union Parishad Abul Quashem Chatu and headmaster of the school Md. Zahiruddin, among others, spoke on the occasion.
The speakers urged the guardians to keep close eye on their growing up children, their friends and any of their changing behaviour. If the guardians find any abnormal change of their children, they should bring it to the notice of concerned authorities.
The speakers also urged the parents of girls to stop child marriage.
