Kathin Chibor Dan, the main religious festival of indigenous Buddist community of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, was celebrated at “Yongda Buddhist Temple”, the oldest temple of the CHT, on Friday with much enthusiasm, UNB reports.
Various religious programs, including Panchasheel Grohon, Buddha Puja, Ashta Porishkar and Pradip Puja, were arranged at the temple.
Seeking divine blessings of Lord Goutam Buddha for lasting peace and prosperity for the people of all communities in CHT, the Buddhists lighted candles and offered prayers in the temple.
Kathin Chibor Dan' means 'Offering of Difficult Monk Robe', an annual colorful festival.
During 'Kathin Chibor Dan', new robes are donated to the monks.
