Both the bourses of the country --the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- saw negative trend in early hours of trading Monday, the second trading day of the week.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed 17.40 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse also went down by 41.05 points within first one and half an hour of the day’s trading.
After first 1.30 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index DSE went down by 17.40points or 0.36 per cent to stand at 4692.21, when the report was filed at 12:06pm.
The two other indices also saw downward trend till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed 5.60 points or 0.49 per cent to stand at 1117.67 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 6.40 points or .36 per cent to stand at 1758.36 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1705.65 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 76 advanced, 166 declined and 59 issues remained unchanged.
DOREENPWR dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 127.26 million changing hands till then, followed by BSRM Tk 89.69 million, NBL Tk 82.89 million and SQUARE PHARMA Tk 74.87 million.
However, the port city bourse- the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)- also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX–shedding 41.05points to stand at 8776.12 points, also at 12:05pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 42 gained, 106 declined and 36 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 107 million.
