Stocks start week on positive note

Country's stock market started the week on positive note, marking gain in its price indices on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

 

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over 8.31 points only to stand at 4709.62 at the close of day’s trading.

 

Trade deals stood at 1,09,132 with volume of transactions at Tk 4838.33 million.

 

Of the issues traded, 137 advanced, 135 declined and 51 remained unchanged.

 

TITUSGAS topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 286.11 million having changed hands.

 

The other turnover leaders were NBL, BSRMLTD, BBS, MJLBD, OLIYMPIC, SUMITPOWER, SQUREPHARMA, DOREENPWR and LAFSURCEML.

 

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8817.18 by gaining over 29.87 points.
