2-day Int’l medical congress held in city

Two-day long Bangladesh International Medical Students’ Scientific Congress, BIMSSCON 2016 was concluded at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh- IDEB in the capital on Saturday.


It was the second edition of the first ever scientific congress of medical students in Bangladesh with the theme “Emergencies in Medicine: Bridging the Gap” organized by IFMSA- Bangladesh.


The opening of the congress was graced in presence of National Professor Brig (Retd.) Abdul Malek as the chief guest while Prof Dr. ABM Abdullah Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was present as a special guest.


Mahfuzur Rahman, Secretary of the Land Ministry attended as the chief guest on the second day’s conclusion programme.


The goal of the congress is to act as a medium for exchanging ideas and information on important scientific & health issues, provide a unique opportunity for learning from amazing nationally and internationally renowned keynote speakers in an engaging atmosphere. The congress was open for medical and dental students across the globe.


About 700 Medical and Dental students from India, Nepal, Indonesia, Nigeria, Sudan, Thailand, Philippines including Bangladesh were participated the Congress.


In this second edition of the conference included 30 workshops, six permanent committee session, discussions on two keynotes, subjective quizzes, career symposiums, medical quiz shows, Olympiad, video contest.


More than that student from home and abroad also presented their research prepares in this conference.


BIMSSCON is the country’s loan international congress working for the development of future health professionals in academic knowledge, research and hands-on-skills for tackling scientific, clinical and social challenges locally and globally.
