A policeman was killed as a truck hit his bike at Kashiadanga in the city on Sunday morning.
The victim was identified as sub-inspector Azhar Ali, 58, son of late Wahed Ali, hailing from Bhanchipara village in Baghmara upazila. He was performing his duty in a reserve force of Rajshahi range police.
Aman Ullah, officer-in-charge of Rajpara Police Station, said the moving truck hit Azhar's bike while he was returning home at Hadgram from Kashiadanga around 10am, leaving him critically injured.
Azhar was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead.
Meanwhile, police seized the truck and detained its driver.
