New bus service hits Brahamanbaria-Kolkata route

A new bus service from Brahamanbaria to India's Kolkata city has started on Friday, aiming to boost up the connectivity between the residents of the two neighboring countries.

Brahamanbaria Sadar-3 constituency lawmaker RAM Ubaydul Muktadir Chowdhury inaugurated the bus service in the morning at Municipal Bus Terminal in the district town.

Two buses will leave the town every day for Kolkata while two others will leave the West Bengal capital for Brahamanbaria, said Obayed Hossain, a representative of ‘Royal Coach’, the company operating the service.

Every bus can carry 34 passengers and a passenger has to pay Tk 1600-1800 for travelling to Kolkata and vice versa.
